About Artist

Born 1965 in Hyderabad, Nagesh Goud received his formal education in art from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University, Hyderabad. His stylized works traverse the figurative, semi abstract and abstract forms. The myths, dramas that hold the great Indian tales of heroism, resolution, and stories of the Ramayana and Mahabharata, are an inherent part of his repertoire. Symbols from these epics are fused into his forms and adornments of men and women, part mythical and part pastoral, to illustrate the narratives. In a linear flow juxtaposed with defined curvaceous forms, sharpened features and bold colours are used to profile the character and narrative. Monochromatic scales are alternated with vivid shades. The graphic renderings within the face or body forms add theatrics to his work that resonates with the art of traditional leather puppetry of Andhra Pradesh, blending the past with the present. The artist has been a part of many exhibitions and artists’ camps all over India and abroad. His work is part of several private collections. The artist lives and works in Hyderabad.
