Relief Art Gallery founded in 2018 is one of the young and supportive platforms for the emerging and established artists from across the nation and international. The establishment aims to encourage a space where art collectors and art enthusiasts can interact with younger and emerging artists and their art practices. It offers a parallel milieu where younger artists are able to contextualize their work alongside the masters of Indian art, experiment with medium, material and institutional critique. With an aim to support exceptional artists who show the potential to have a global career, and art, which can be embraced by both established and upcoming collectors, the gallery strives to ensure that collectors get value.

Relief Art Gallery is a passionate vision of two people; a philanthropist business man Ramakrishna Reddy Isanaka, and a versatile artist of many forms Khaleel. This Art Gallery in Hyderabad is home to some of the renowned artists and art masters like MF  Hussain, Souza, Jamini Roy, Aziz, Aqeel. With such diverse names and art collection within one year of its existence, Relief Art Gallery, Studio Khaleel is a one-of-a-kind art gallery in India which exhibits an exclusive collection of life-on-canvas paintings.  Located at Hyderabad’s upscale Banjara Hills, this 4,300 sq. ft. commercial gallery space was designed to international standards and shall change the art of landscape of India.

Relief Residency Program: The residency will be a creative space for artists, writers and art professionals from across the country and global. Relief Art Gallery is inviting artists for Residency Program: Relief Residency invites & is open to state, national and international artists, from the field of Visual Arts. The applicant has be a practicing artist with a degree in fine arts or after completion of their Master’s degree or equivalent.

Application: The Relief Residency applications are currently open. Applications should be sent 4 to 5 months in advance of the proposed dates of residency. However, the applications are received round the year. Applications for residencies are considered for selection by a panel of experts. After receipt of application, the Residency will take 10 working days for processing. If selected, you will be notified of approved residency dates through e-mails. Please pay particular attention to these dates and plan your travels accordingly. Requests for change before or after the approved dates can only be entertained subject to availability of studio space.

For selection for the residency we request you to mail us your updated CV, self-picture, your recent artworks images with complete details of the artworks, and the concept note about your art works. Please note that foreigners need a visa and passport to travel to India.

Location: The Relief Residency is located in the gallery premises, at Banjara Hills, one of the posh localities of Hyderabad. The residency is fully equipped, with art material, studio space, bright ambience, kitchen set-up. The airport is 40km away, Secunderabad railway station is 15km, and Nampally station is 10km, this has nearest facility like malls, multiplex theaters, hotels, etc.

Residency: The Relief Residency will provide 3AC tier railway ticket to & fro or the air ticket whichever costs less in comparison between railways or the airline. We will reimburse the amount. There will not be ticket facility for the artists residing in Hyderabad. Pick up and drop facility from railway station or the airport. The residency provides Accommodation with workspace, Internet Facility & for food we shall pay you per week cash funds of 2500INR. The residency will not pay any remuneration to the artists. The basic material for art works will be provided. (Limitation of amount up to 4000–5000/-).The artists will bring their own personal/special art accessories or tools to be used.

Relief Art Gallery offers one month residency only, all the works done during the residency would be a collection of the gallery, this would depend on each artist and would be with the mutual understating between artist and the gallery. A percentage 65% on sales would be given to the artist. We request all the artists to give a presentation of their works. Please keep a pen drive with recent works and other details ready. During the last days of the residency we will be having an Interactive / Open session. And one-day workshop with the underprivileged students.

Residency Rules:

  • As the studio space is provided for free, any damage to the physical property will have to be borne by the artist.
  • No alcohol.
  • No outside visitors will be allowed to stay overnight.
  • The local travels, the artists have to take care on their own.
  • The Relief Art Gallery Management reserves the right to selection / discontinuation of the artists.
  • No artist will be allowed to take leave/ break for other engagements during the residency, rather than that of the organization.
  • All the resident artists are requested to be in Hyderabad on specified dates.
  • Relief Residency will not be responsible for any thefts, mishaps during the residency, which may occur due to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Resident Artists must make their own arrangements for medical insurance.
  • Medication advisable to carry with you prescribed medicines as per your medical requirements.
